USA: The Having won both the event in 2015 in Canada and the competition in 2019 in France, the United States of America (USA) seeks to complete the "three-peat" by winning both tournaments this year. Although the USA remains the dominant force in women's football, a significantly revamped and relatively inexperienced roster will give other teams an opportunity to seize the initiative.

Prime amongst these is Sarah Wiegman’s England Lionesses, who redefined the way women’s football is seen at home with their famous Euros win at Wembley last summer. England have been to the last two semifinals but will want to go a step further this year.

Australia, the hosts, is one of the favorite's and has star power thanks to Sam Kerr of Chelsea. The traditional suspects, Spain, Germany, and France will also be trying their hardest to contain the Americans, while the 2019 champions Netherlands will also be hoping to exact revenge on the Americans for their loss to them in the group stages.
